Trova Digital Marketplace Ltd ("Trova", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Trova mobile application and website at trova.ng, a local marketplace connecting buyers, vendors, and delivery riders across Nigeria.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, phone number, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).
- Profile information: profile photo, business name, and location city (optional).
- Precise location (GPS): real-time device location used to show nearby vendors and services. Collected only while the app is in use.
- Photos and videos: images and videos you upload as business photos, order evidence, or media shared in chats.
- Audio: microphone access used for voice calls between buyers and vendors within the app.
- Transaction data: orders placed or received, payment references, and delivery details.
- Device information: push notification token, device type, and OS version.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and in-app interactions.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To process orders, payments, and deliveries.
- To show nearby vendors and services based on your location.
- To send OTP verification codes and account notifications via SMS and email.
- To send push notifications about your orders and messages.
- To enable voice calls between buyers and vendors.
- To resolve disputes and provide customer support.
- To improve the platform and prevent fraud.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:
- With vendors and riders: to fulfil your orders (name, delivery address, phone number).
- With payment processors: Paystack and Monnify process payments under their own privacy policies.
- With SMS providers: Termii delivers OTP codes to your phone number.
- With Agora: voice and video call infrastructure for in-app calls between users.
- With Firebase (Google): push notification delivery to your device.
- With Google Maps: map display and location-based services within the app.
- With cloud providers: Neon (database), Cloudinary (images), and Redis (session data) store data securely.
- When required by law: if compelled by Nigerian law or a valid court order.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records).
6. Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. Payments are handled via escrow and never stored on our servers. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Opt out of marketing communications.
