Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Trova app or website, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Trova.
2. The Trova Platform
Trova is a marketplace that connects buyers, vendors, and delivery riders in Nigeria. We provide the platform. We are not a party to transactions between users and do not take ownership of any goods or services listed on the platform.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Trova. By registering, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- The information you provide is accurate and complete.
- You will keep your account credentials secure and not share them.
4. Buyer Responsibilities
- Buyers must provide an accurate delivery address when placing an order.
- Payment is held in escrow until the order is confirmed received.
- Disputes must be raised within 48 hours of delivery. After 7 days, payment is automatically released to the vendor.
- Buyers must not abuse the dispute or refund process.
5. Vendor Responsibilities
- Vendors must list products and services accurately and honestly.
- Vendors must not list counterfeit, illegal, or prohibited items.
- Vendors are responsible for fulfilling orders in a timely manner.
- Trova charges a 10% platform fee on each completed transaction.
- Payouts are made to the vendor's registered bank account after the escrow period.
6. Rider Responsibilities
- Riders must be registered and have valid identification.
- Riders are responsible for safe and timely delivery of orders.
- Riders must treat buyers and vendors with respect.
- Delivery fees are calculated based on distance and are non-refundable once a rider has picked up an order.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Use Trova for any illegal activity.
- Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.
- List or sell illegal, counterfeit, or harmful goods.
- Attempt to bypass the escrow payment system.
- Create fake accounts or impersonate others.
- Scrape, hack, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.
8. Payments & Escrow
All payments are processed through secure third-party providers (Paystack, Monnify). Funds are held in escrow until order completion or dispute resolution. Trova charges a 10% platform fee on completed transactions. Delivery fees are separate and go directly to riders.
9. Disputes & Refunds
Disputes must be raised within 48 hours of a delivery being marked complete. Trova will review evidence from both parties and make a final decision within 5 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Trova's decision on disputes is final.
10. Limitation of Liability
Trova is a marketplace platform and is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of items listed by vendors, the accuracy of listings, or the ability of vendors to complete sales. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Trova's total liability to any user shall not exceed the amount paid to Trova in the 3 months preceding the claim.
11. Account Termination
Trova reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users or the platform. Users may delete their account at any time from account settings.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in Nigerian courts.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Trova after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
